The American Mathematics Competition 8 is one of the most challenging math competitions open to middle schoolers in the country and the first in a series of math competitions hosted by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). The AMC10/12 serves as a gateway for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), the qualifier for the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), the most elite math competition in the United States.
